► THE CHASM

The Chasm isn’t actually a chasm at all, but rather a wide pit that was dug by members of The Ravage Family. Since almost any offense imaginable is punishable by death in Ravageland, defendants are thrown into the pit to fight for their lives against members of The Family. Neither the defendant, nor the family member, are given any weapon prior to entering The Chasm. Crude weapons such as daggers, rope, and large rocks can also be found in the pit, and the ‘players’ – as the defendant and the Family member are called – must fight until grave injury or death. If the Family member is alive by the end of the ordeal but lost the battle, they get to live and the defendant is acquitted of all charges. If the defendant lost the battle due to grave injury and is still alive, they will be put to death by another Family member.

This is the only justice system in Ravageland. Aside from hovercraft racing, it is the largest form of entertainment.
