With its large white columns and statue of the goddess Aureole guarding the front, the Counsel is hard to miss. The University of Uisdean is the only form of public education in all of Elysia. Unlike all the other buildings in Adney, Uisdean is the only one that is not white. It is gold-plated and is painted yellow and green, which have become its official colors. Some of the ceilings are made of glass roofs, while others have wind-mill-like turbines that allow the University to generate its own electricity. Inside, the walls and floors are tiled and depict many images and symbols; all the images together are said to make up a story, though no scholar has ever succeeded in figuring out what the messages mean. While Uisdean is a free college, it only allows the best and brightest into its walls. The entrance test is not so much a test as it is a quest, and each professor always has their own ideas on what entitles a person to become a scholar of Uisdean.

The Hanging Gardens of Adney, based on the Babylonian Hanging Gardens, is a series of interconnected gardens filled with beautiful and rare flowers, small waterfalls and streams, and pools of water with raised platforms filled with flowers. There are day-beds, gazebos, and chairs strewn across the gardens for the people of Adney. At night, the garden is lit up with paper lanterns that are hung in strings.
