I'm sure that everyone has created (or stumbled upon) a few characters in the role-playing world that they absolutely adored or loved, and would not hesitate in developing them in other games.
So.... let's share and perhaps shed some interesting tidbits about your favourite characters!
I'll start it off by pointing towards my latest character on TB - Isolde Frost. She is actually modified from my first female character, a Chinese woman called Xue Ling. She was a normal housewife living in a big city, but upon realising that she suffered from infertility, her life was changed forever. Her husband was understanding, and tried to cheer her up, but she felt guilty. It felt like it was her fault that she couldn't give him a child.
I enjoyed role-playing Xue Ling because she was just like any normal Asian housewife, and was married to a white-collar husband. The couple had to go through daily life together with arguments, cold wars, stress from in-laws and relatives about having a child, financial troubles etc. Even something like grocery shopping could spark off a really fun thread, which I really liked.
I like to think of her as a culmination of what I see in my country, making Xue Ling a reflection of what a woman born in the 50s has to struggle with nowadays... it also helps me in trying to understand the mysterious females' minds... somehow xD
Alright, enough of me rambling!
Time for YOU to tell everyone more about your favourite character(s) that you've created (or seen) in the role-playing world!

Oh God there is so many that I'm not even sure where to begin... I think for now I'll just start with one XD OK, so before I RPed on anime games I really loved equine fantasy RPGs. There were amazing plots, amazing writers, and just... overall amazingness. If you think horse rpgs are all about having babies and eating grass then you don't know shit about RPing horses... ANY WAY. So before I tell you about this character, I want you to keep one thing in mind: everything I am about to say was RPed out, from birth to how she is now. Ok, so my baby Era was born to a former Queen of The Damned (regular horsie that was kidnapped by the infected, a horse race on the site that had been bitten by these zombie birds that turned horsies into schizo cannibals... I miss that game so damn much) named Morimaite, and this shadow-dragon-horse creature named Kurai (not my character). Kurai is a sort of god of chaos type thing, or chaos itself... his player never really made it clear, but basically he was an ancient evil of the world and he decided to have a kid with my character Morimaite who had grown to somewhat care about, but basically he just wanted to use her womb and to raise his spawn of Satan child. So they give birth to Era, who is pretty normal-looking - no scales like her daddy - but she's born with incredibly bad eye sight that eventually leads to her being fully blind. Her parents are pissed about the defect, but they keep her alive to see if maybe she was still usable... parents of the year, right? Well, Era is a little antichrist, and her first mission is to kill her half-brother, the son of Kurai and the wife of Kurai's rival, who Kurai had raped. Era was basically raised to be a killer, to be manipulative, to drag the whole world down just like daddy dearest and as a child she was a pompous lil shit who thought she ruled the world. Era, while still a foal, met the daughter of her father's rival and the half-sibling to her half-brother. She didn't know who the daughter was and for a long time, the two were friends... Era and the girl, Alanna, eventually become best friends, without ever knowing that the other is technically the enemy by blood. Now, my character Semele (who I will tell you all about later), who was working for Kurai in order to bring him down from inside his 'inner circle', sees that Era is actually turning out good and decides that Era needs an even bigger fighting chance if she's to get away from Kurai's clutches. Semele tells Kurai's nephew Cyan that Kuria wants him to kill Morimaite, so he does. On the site, characters have elemental powers and Cyan's is fire, so he sets Morimaite on fire after killing her. Kurai realizes there was treachery and tells Era that her mother was killed by Era's half-brother, the one Era is supposed to kill. Era is filled with rage and a new longing to murder her half-brother who still is completely unaware she exists. She ends up meeting her half-brother's son, who she tricks into leading her to her half-brother. She pretends to be in awe of him, since he was a famous warrior in his kingdom, and asks to be his student to which he agrees. She learns his weaknesses and tricks by training with him, waiting for the right moment to strike. It was while she was training with her half-brother that she finds out her best friend, Alanna, is actually the daughter of her father's sworn rival and also the half-sister of her half-brother. Era of course has a major melt down, and goes to find Alanna and asks her if it is true that she's the daughter of Kurai's rival. Now, keep in mind, that Era was never evil. She was just the daughter of two very bad people, who told her very bad lies, and she grew up believing those lies because to her they were truth. She's been taught to think that her father's rival was the evil one, and that her own father was a powerful god. When Era finds out it's the other way around, she absolutely loses it. During this time, Semele comes in (her power was to travel through shadows, and she wears shadows to become a silhouette because she's actually hideously deformed) and explains things to Era, though she lies and says Kurai ordered Cyan to kill Morimiate, which was the last straw for Era. Kurai and Cyan come, and try to attack Alanna. Era then protects Alanna and swears her loyalty to Alanna and her father, Falchion, her own father's rival. Kurai has Cyan attack Era, only for Alanna's family to protect her. Kurai and Cyan leave, and later, both Kurai and Cyan succeed in destroying the kingdoms of that site, although Era's half-brother, whom she got close to and ended up loving a lot - sacrificed himself to kill Kurai. Why do I love Era so much? Basically, she's the total personification of nature vs. nurture and good vs. evil. She was never fundamentally good nor fundamentally bad, she just was, and she let her experiences shape her. She was awkward around others because she was never properly socialized, she thought she was better then everyone even though she was vulnerable due to her developing blindness, and she had a sharp tongue. And even though she was taught to hate, and to take, and to hurt, she still knew how to love her father, and how to love Alanna, and eventually Semele, Semele's mate Halo, and their children who she started to refer to as her true siblings. She went from being an Antichrist to being a defender of life, and for all that she's been through and her humorous nature, she's my favorite character I ever had the pleasure of playing. Some quotes: and art for era!and another!someone actually drew this for me, so happy! XDher signature
