NICKNAMES: she doesn't mind nicknames at all, and is commonly called juli or jules. RACE: mutant; infrared vision. AGE: fifteen, nearing her sixteenth birthday. GENDER: female. SEXUALITY: heterosexual. RESIDENCE: juli lives in hogwash with her brother, tybalt. OCCUPATION: class D racer. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION REFLECTION: juliette is still a young, growing girl, but she honestly doesn't think she'll get much taller, and she hopes she doesn't get any wider. she's not particularly wide to begin with-- well, actually, the girl is almost a rail. but, this can probably be attested to her short stature; she only comes in at about 5'2". she's the shortest member of her family, and while she's not exactly happy about it, she lives with it. she hopes that with age, she'll get taller and her chest will fill out and all of those beautiful things that come with puberty, but as she's almost 16 and still short and pretty flat-chested, juli doubts much will happen. she doesn't understand. everybody, seriously...everybody calls her adorable. juli's happy with how she looks, of course, but she just doesn't see where this cuteness comes in. she's not undesirable looking, but she doesn't understand everybody's coos of "you are just so adorable!" but, let's be honest here...the girl's practically a doll. she's got a bright, round face with shining brown eyes, although her irises, when inspected closely, have an almost red tint to them. her yellow blonde hair is long and is usually kept in a ponytail, just to keep it out of her face. FACE CLAIM: yellow - pokémon. PERSONALITY AND MORE THE GOOD: the first thing people notice about juli is that she's kind. she's one of the kindest and sweetest girls you'd ever meet. she compliments and supports and is just nice to everybody, and could probably be friends with just about anybody that came her way, if she wanted to. she's also jovial, as in she's always in a good mood. it's extremely rare to catch juliette in a down or off disposition. she's an open-minded girl who loves to hear other's opinions. she's open to the idea of religion and accepts pretty much anybody you could throw at her. this also ties in to her politeness, because even if, for some reason, she didn't like someone, she'd never let it show. the girl is polite to the point of aggravation. lastly, juli is hard-working. she doesn't stop until her job is done, and she makes sure it's done right. this is displayed in all aspects of her life, from home, to the track, and back. THE BAD: however, juliette is a very gullible and naïve girl. her brother is protective of her, and doesn't really let her "get out" much. not that she complains, but more about that later. juli'd believe almost anything you told her, and doesn't have many street smarts. seriously, if you asked her if your rag smelled like chloroform, she'd be willing to sniff and make a guess about what chloroform smelled like. on the same token, she can be very shy and reserved, which is in complete contrast to her brother tybalt. most of the time growing up he was the one who did all the talking while she would just batt her thick eyelashes to get what she could want. if she's just met someone, she'll probably stay drawn back and not talk much, but rest assured, after you crack the soft outer shell, you'll find an even softer inside. and finally, juli can be clingy. not necessarily in a relationship sense, as she's never had a relationship, but she really likes the contact of hugging, so she's likely to cling to you if she really likes you and feels comfortable around you. it might not seem very negative, but someone constantly clinging to you gets annoying pretty fast. BELIEF: as juli wasn't raised in a terribly religious household, she would probably be considered agnostic. although she doesn't know how to classify herself, she isn't an atheist because she just isn't sure about religion, and could be probably be persuaded into the aureolian religion if someone tried hard enough. LIKES AND HOBBIES: it may seem obvious, but juliette adores her older brother tybalt. despite the fact that he's...well, a diamond in the very, very rough, she looks up to him, and he's her first role model. when their father was off at the races, she oftentimes looked to tybalt for guidance, and has grown very, very close to him. she also adores small animals and constantly is asking for a pet. rabbits and cats are her favorite species. although she doesn't get a chance to do it very often, juliette loves to sketch. they're nothing special, but it's something she loves to do when she's stressed or bored or just feels like doodling. her favorite time of day is sunset. she finds the colors that paint the sky beautiful, and stares and watches the sun slink into the horizon for hours each night. and despite the fact that they don't hardly exist in khthonia, she loves flowers. DISLIKES AND TURN-OFFS: juliette isn't really a fan of her mutation. she finds it useful, of course, especially during games of hide and go seek, but she'd really like to see what people actually look like on the first meeting, besides how warm each part of their body was. speaking of heat, she also doesn't like the desert. she hates the vast unknown of it all, and she always gets sand in her eyes. she has a great aversion to sickness as most people do, but juli almost has a phobia of it. whenever she can sense she's coming down with something, she immediately hops into her bed and asks tybalt to talk to a doctor, even if it's as simple as a cold. even though she'll never admit it, juli hates losing. that tevirye blood flows through her veins, and tevirye's hate to lose. however, juliette won't positively die if she does lose a race or two. one she starts losing them all is when she'll start to freak out. the last thing juli doesn't like is older women or girls. she's not a tomboy, but older and more developed girls make her slightly jealous, even if she'll never admit it. she also doesn't like the attitude of most older teenage girls, and would rather just stay out of it. ASPIRATIONS: juliette aspires to become a great racer, both to please her parents and her brother. even though her brother is trying to become a legendary racer himself, she believes that following in his footsteps will make him proud of her. LOOKING BACK: juliette's fondest memory was only a few years ago, before she started racing and when tybalt had just started out. she was sitting in the stands as she watched her brother's hovercraft zoom around the track, biting her lip and gasping when the crowd did. to her extreme happiness, tyb won the purse (and his first race) and bought her some nicer food for the night. however, her worse memory goes back farther. when she was young, she got stranded out in the woods. even though her mutant ability didn't arrive until early in her teenage years, she could still sense when something or someone undesirable was around. she panicked a bit but finally found her way back to the camping site. despite the fact that she returned home safe, she still has nightmares about some of the forest creatures. MISCELLANY: basically, her mutant power lets her see thermal imaging, similar to a predator if you've seen that. basically she can see regular colors, but people and other things that have heat to them (like other living things, like animals and such) kind of do that glowing with the colors corresponding to their temperature. it's not as intense as usual infrared imaging, and it's kind of a faded overlay. if she squints really hard and focuses, she can kind of see normally, but it gives her a headache after a while. she also wears a special type of goggle that takes away some of the sting of the infrared imaging for races, but like squinting, they give her headaches after prolonged wear. its different than tybalt's because they were born from 2 mutant parents, and i talked to zulu about it. hopefully it's all good? :3 OUT OF CHARACTER OOC NAME: hanrar!
