What was the point in having one when he would smash it? It is easier to seek others’ opinions of how he looks. He is freakishly tall at 7’7, and towers over most of the Ravage brothers and sisters. His shadow eclipses others so easily that it is rumoured that it is an independent entity, and is capable of stretching to strangle you when you are not looking. He does not dispute the rumours, only grinning widely to show his sharpened teeth and licking his lips with his long, fork-like tongue. His gangly frame of 207 pounds and long limbs contribute to the jerky gait whenever he walks, as if his body is unable to cope with the energy required to move. His ribs stick out slightly, and his veins are clearly pronounced against the pallid shade of his skin. Dry, black strands of hair hang limply till his shoulders, and he often ties it up in a ponytail. A hastily wrapped cloth or eyepatch covers his missing left eye, and his visible eye is dull gray. The cliché ‘eyes are the windows to one’s soul’ do not apply to Axe, and it is not just because he only has one eye. There seems to be no glimpse of a humane soul in him, as he is more animalistic than some chimeras and mutants. FACE CLAIM: Nnoitra Jiruga/Gilga, Bleach PERSONALITY AND MORE THE GOOD: He is a determined man. Anything that he wants, he will get it. It is simply a matter of whether he wants it badly enough. Axe is humourous, even if his jokes may have a vulgar element. He makes light of any situation easily, and does not seem to be defeated by setbacks. “Just gotta get up and do it again.” With a life dictated by violence, Axe has nerves of steel. There is little that scares him, as he is the one who does the scaring. He is a risk-taker, willing to jump into unknown situations for the sake of the family and himself. He exhibits great understanding towards weapons, and is a fast learner when it comes to handling a new type of blade or gun. He may not be the best, but he can hold up in a fight. THE BAD: It would be an understatement to say that Axe has a violent streak. He strives off violence and gore. Blood excites him, even if it is his own. It is suspected that he has hematomania (obsession with blood), but nobody dares to force him to see a doctor about his condition. He is a sadistic man who prowls around like a predator searching for its next prey, and is only satisfied when he is given an order to injure or kill somebody. He does it with great pleasure, and enjoys the act of hurting others – physically and emotionally. With a reckless, raging temper that scares almost everyone who knows him, he is like a loose cannon that will not hesitate in harming allies. His maniacal behaviour frightens others, earning him a nickname of being the ‘boogeyman’ of Ravageland. He randomly bursts into low chuckles and murmurs while eyeing others, as if he knows the person’s deepest, darkest secret. He gets restless quickly, and is easily bored. This, combined with his destructive tendencies, results in the need for constant activity – more senseless violence. Axe is also unnecessarily crude and rude, spewing vulgarities like it is his first language. BELIEF: He ain’t believing in nobody but Father and himself. WEAPON SLOT: Double barrel shotgun LIKES AND HOBBIES: He loves dipping his fingers into blood and watching it drip, especially just after he kills somebody. Sometimes, he smears the blood onto his clothes just to preserve the smell a little longer. It might be of a stretch to assume that he loves or adores Wilkinson Ravage (affectionately called ‘Father’), but he likes the old man. Father is the only one who can control his bloodlust and temper. Generally, he likes the rest of the Ravage family, as being with them provides him with sufficient entertainment. He might indulge in threatening others and forcing them into a fight just for fun. He also does that just to see the fearful expressions. It is amusing to see how his presence affects them. It is almost comical that he actually likes and protects children, though his reason is considerably warped: “I want to train them to become the best fighters and watch them chew off their parents’ faces.” DISLIKES AND TURN-OFFS: He abhors whiners and tattlers. These two groups of people will find themselves at Axe’s mercy if he finds them. He dislikes being restricted or monitored. Picking on him or any member of the Rave family does not bode well for your future. That is, if you are still alive at the end of his ‘friendly meeting’. Axe does not have any inclination towards money or success, and is annoyed whenever he is pushed to become more ‘ambitious’. ASPIRATIONS: To have an endless supply of people fighting him so that he can stand triumphantly over the bodies, and play with their blood by repeatedly stabbing the flesh. It sounds impossible, but a man can dream, right? LOOKING BACK: About ten years ago, he had just joined in the abduction of one of Wilkinson Ravage’s wives , and the glint of approval from the leader’s eyes was the first memory Axe had of the man he called ‘Father’. For the first time in his life, Axe experienced the fleeting emotion named ‘pride’. He knew then, that he would do anything for Father. That and the fact that being part of the Ravage family allowed him to indulge in his love for blood. As for his worst memory, Axe would never admit to it but he had been beaten up badly during a stupid disagreement in the mine shaft. He had almost drowned in his own blood. It was only then that he feared Death, and he has been having nightmares of that particular night since then. Strangely enough, he also developed an addiction to the taste and feel of blood. The memory of how his own arm blood surrounded him might have also been a comforting one, despite the deeply instilled fear of Death. MISCELLANY: His missing left eye was part of his punishment for youthful indiscretion – peeking at one of Father’s wives while she was changing. Axe has no memory of having any family prior to being adopted into the Ravage family. He only remembers scavenging the City of Hogwash before being sold to work in the mines at Ravageland.
