I've been scanning around the site, and have noticed a disproportionate number of roleplayers compared to the actual RP's taking place.
There's a bunch of Open threads that nobody seems to reply to, yet we have plenty of people here and populating the c-box. I forgot how many threads we can be in at one time, but personally, if I'm in like, 3 threads already (which I am), I can't/will not just start going into other Open threads. Other people who don't seem to be posting need to do it.
If this keeps up, people will be discouraged from roleplaying here at all. And while chatting in the cbox is fun, it shouldn't be the only reason people come here. Get out there and join Open topics, people. Please.

I understand your frustration, and totally agree, but I doubt using profanity in your title is going to help. I know you don't mean to, but others might be offended by it.
Back to the topic though, like I mentioned before, I full heartedly agree. I love how active and nice people are in the c-box, but I'm not seeing that kind of participation in the forums.
Personally, the only reason my only character (Irya) hasn't posted in any of the open threads were because of location. I kept looking for reasons for my 14 year old to be in those locations but couldn't find a convincing one. There were many times I was highly inclined to create a new character that could interact with characters on these open threads, but considering the predicament I'm in (my schedule will change drastically by January) I felt it was best not to.
However, regardless, the forum does need as much activity as the c-box is showing. We even have many OOC areas we can post in, but sadly we've made little use of them.

I agree about open threads. I've actually been meaning to post in some (AND I AM GOING TO POST IN LAZARO'S FOR SURE OKAY)
The biggest thing with me right now is the amount of work I'm going to be having to do lately. Finals are coming up soon, I've got a trip coming up soon, and I also have a job. Sometimes I don't have time for anything but sticking around the c-box while I write a paper or work on chemistry problems.
I'm just saying, sometimes people might be busy? And to keep those kinds of things in consideration, too. Especially since it takes some people (i.e. me) a big longer to write a reply to an rp. I'm just slow, idk. |:

I agree, the forum is moving slower than the cbox. I don't think it's necessarily that bad though, as I've contacted any people who owed posts for over two weeks that were active in the cbox. Next I'll probably contact all the people who haven't posted since they joined. I don't feel it's that bad yet, this is a forum rpg where you can post and it's perfectly all right if the response takes a few days.
Do I wish the forum was more active? Of course I do. But I don't want to force people into posting, that'll just push them away. I appreciate you bringing up the topic though. I wish more people used the OOC areas too >/

If someone takes offense to a G-PG rated word like that, they need a reality check.
I understand that. But the border between busy and lazy grows hazy (didn't mean to rhyme) grows superficial the longer stuff like this keeps up. Then it boils down to excuses. I mean, I still find the time to post daily (considering I work from 5:30AM to 5PM, minus the extra hours of seperate work and such) and use 30 min breaks (if I can get them) to make a post, simple as it may be.
There is always time. It just needs to be managed well. In the time it takes someone to read this post, they could have written a paragraph.
Again though, I just wanted to bring this to light. Thanks for the responses.

<slash>I'll reply to a thread if I think it makes sense for me to do so. Considering I'm used to stagnating rps which run only one topic at a time, atm I'm in a sort of creative explosion because this board shot the compressed bottle I had been keeping my muse in. Of course, I'll probably slow down eventually.</slash>
