[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/2dvq6j6.jpg,true][atrb=width,453,true] she is a sealed vessel she is a closed system she does not know how to shiver GENERAL INFORMATION NAME: Isolde Frost (maiden name is ‘Isolde Arela Summers’) NICKNAMES: Lady Frost RACE: Human AGE: Thirty-five GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Heterosexual RESIDENCE: A modest mansion on west area on the Isle of Adney OCCUPATION: Noble (Lady) PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION REFLECTION: Each morning, she sits in front of the stained glass mosaic dresser while one of her attendants helps in brushing and caring for the light golden tresses that extend beyond her waist. Her skin glows radiantly and is free of wrinkles that would indicate her age, though there is the occasional troubled tinge of worry in her light gray eyes that reminds one that she is a woman nearing her forties. Her lips are surprisingly pale, a fact that is easily concealed by the application of specially brewed herbs that will lend a rouge-coloured tint to her naturally chapped, dry lips. She only wears dresses and the occasional tailored suit that flatter her figure, and is usually dressed in light colours that bring out her fair skin. The Frost family heirloom, a necklace with a cold blue jewel pendent, is reserved for special occasions. She appears taller than her height of 5’7 with the aid of high heels strategically hidden by her long dresses that show a moderate amount of skin (arms and a tiny glimpse of cleavage). She is healthy for her age, weighing 132 pounds on a considerably slim body, though she still thinks that her thighs are not as thin as she preferred. FACE CLAIM: Final Fantasy, Cosmos PERSONALITY AND MORE THE GOOD: The Lady of the House is a charismatic and winsome woman who maintains amicable relations with everyone, especially with other nobles. Handling public relations is her forte, as she is a budding politician who can capture and captivate others. She has a caring and gentle disposition that is almost mother-like, despite not having a child of her own. An unassuming woman, she is modest about her achievements and does not behave arrogantly. She is a refined lady – her actions are graceful, guided by the training received since she was a mere child. Isolde has an admirable analytical prowess that was honed by her years of strict upbringing in a noble House that prided itself on churning out scholars, and her education in the University of Usidean. Her mind is in a constant whir of activity. She ponders over, debates with, and argues against her own reasoning to fill up any possible loopholes before presenting her ideas to others. THE BAD: Isolde is emotionally frigid. She is an apathetic individual, and an intensely private person who rarely reveals what she really feels or thinks. To wear one’s heart on the sleeve would only bring about complicated consequences which she does not have the time to deal with. Hence, she puts up a cheerful front and capitalises on her natural charm to hide the coldness that dwelled within her. For this, she has been secretly called a hypocrite – a two-faced actress who could switch between the generous lovely lady and the indifferent mistress of the House. She does not deny this, because she is a multi-faceted woman who would willingly exhibit different personalities to further her ambitions. She is cunningly manipulative, always assessing everyone in terms of their ability to help her in reaching her goals, and using them like pawns on a chessboard. She is judgemental towards those who exhibit socially unacceptable behaviour – the lawbreakers – and will do anything to ensure that the criminal is rightfully convicted of his or her crime(s). There are no ‘gray areas’ to her, only what is (lawfully) ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. Though the years have allowed her to learn that some things cannot be so easily classified, Isolde is still considerably inflexible in her thinking and tries her best to stick to what she understands to be ‘correct’. BELIEF: As the Frosts are strongly supportive of Aureolian religion, she follows it as closely as possible. She understands that winning the hearts of citizens lie in her ability to grasp the importance of religion in their everyday lives. LIKES AND HOBBIES: She enjoys visiting her alma mater, the Usidean University, where she had carried out numerous researches on the benefits of aether. Isolde has a strong interest in the sciences, particularly regarding the study of aether and likes to try unearthing more research on it. This explains her support towards alchemists, whom she feels have been treated unfairly. She loves children and cares for the little ones with deep tenderness, often dropping by orphanages to care for them personally. She also likes the lush greenery that is common on the Upside, but rare on the Downside (a fact that she laments about at times). DISLIKES AND TURN-OFFS: Isolde abhors women who aborts or mistreats their children, condemning them to be the greatest murderers of all. This is hatred stemmed from bitterness of being barren. She may be exceedingly cruel towards such women, while not ceasing her efforts to ensure that they are punished accordingly. She dislikes those who discriminate against races and occupations, and does not hesitate to voice what she feels should be a much better governing system. ASPIRATIONS: She wishes to uphold the judicial system, and to ensure that equality to brought to all – human or otherwise. Isolde hopes to adopt a Heir so that the Frost family can continue its lineage. LOOKING BACK: The Frost and Summers families are deeply rooted in the world of politics and power. The two Houses usually arrange marriages to solidify both Houses’ cooperative relationship, and to prevent their position from being usurped by others. As their marriage was nothing but a political move, the first time Isolde noticed that she was actually falling in love with her husband was also the first time she felt helpless. Isolde was fearful that such feelings would not be reciprocated. While he rarely voiced his own feelings, her husband seems to genuinely care for her. He presented the Frost family heirloom just two years into their marriage, giving the prized necklace as a gift for being his wife. To Isolde, this was a token of appreciation and possible love towards her – a reassuring thought for the newly appointed co-head of the Frosts, and a precious memory that she treasures to this day. Her most despairing memory is when she first learned that she can never bear children of her own. Her husband had engaged a doctor to examine her in the first year of their marriage, as they had been trying for a baby boy. When the news of her infertility reached her, Isolde was devastated. She was a strong woman, but the values as a wife had been so deeply ingrained that she thought she would be seen as a worthless being in her husband’s eyes. Even now, Isolde has moments of insecurity. MISCELLANY: One of the Frost family’s greatest secrets is that Isolde is infertile. She is unable to provide a heir for the family, and has thus been viewed with varying amounts of pity and disdain. Her mother-in-law, the previous co-head of the Frosts, had repeatedly told Isolde that she is an “incomplete woman”. It reflected the strongly rooted belief of a woman’s role – to give life. It is unknown what Isolde’s husband truly thinks of her inability to conceive a heir. The House of Frost, one of the famed noble houses in the Upside, has a carefully constructed set of ‘laws’: From an excerpt of the laws within the House: The responsibility of leading the House is always shared by the Heir and his lawfully wedded Wife, and they are generally known as ‘co-heads’. The co-heads must live in the Main House owned by the Frosts. The Heir is usually appointed through a meritocratic system, whereby male members of the House of Frost undergo a series of tests to prove his worth. All male members of the House of Frost compete on equal terms, meaning that even first-borns have to excel in order to be considered for the position as the Heir. In the case where there is no contest or nomination for the position of the Heir within twenty years of the Current Co-Heads’ marriage, the position of the Heir shall be awarded to the Co-Heads’ male child. The Heir’s Wife must from the House of Summers and exhibit a keen sense of leadership without neglecting her family.
